Abstract

The Red slender loris (Loris tardigradus) is an endangered and endemic primate species inhabiting the wet zone of Sri Lanka; a global biodiversity hotspot. The Zoological Society of London’s EDGE of Existence programme ranked L. tardigradus within the top 100 of global mammal priority.And recently it has been listed as Sri Lanka's five most concerned species for conservation by the Department of Wildlife Conservation Sri Lanka. The article is based on the results of the Slender Loris Conservation Project.
